Brazilian Minister of Agriculture Advances Sustainable Food Production Cooperation with the UAE

Brazil and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) discuss partnerships in sustainable agriculture during Minister Carlos Fávaro’s visit to Abu Dhabi and Dubai

The Minister of Agriculture and Livestock, Carlos Fávaro, met with the CEO of the Agthia Group, Mubaraki Almansoori, to present the world’s largest sustainable food production program.

During the meeting, the possibilities of cooperation between the UAE and Brazil were also discussed. The Agthia Group is the largest food and beverage company in the country, and it includes Al Foah, the world’s largest date producer.

Following the meeting in Abu Dhabi, the delegation from the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa) traveled to Dubai. In a meeting with the Director-General of the International Center for Biosaline Agriculture (ICBA), Tarifa Alzaabi, it was decided that Mapa, ICBA, and Embrapa would advance the exchange of information, technical knowledge, and technology transfer in the agricultural sector.

The agreement to intensify cooperation and partnerships between Brazil and the UAE in the agribusiness sector was discussed during a meeting at the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment (MOCCAE) with Undersecretary Mohammed Al Nuaimi.

Minister Fávaro also met with the Minister of International Cooperation of the United Arab Emirates, Reem Ebrahim Al Hashimy, who expressed her country’s interest in significantly expanding trade relations with Brazil.

The strengthening of commercial relations and investments in sustainable food production, energy, and infrastructure were also topics of discussion during the meeting.
